Charvil Village Hall, including the July Main guild meeting Saturday.

Ecoprinting led by renowned artist
Caroline Nixon
Ecoprinting is the magical art of transferring the shape
and colour of leaves and flowers to fabric. The leaf
imprints are colourfast. With the correct techniques, incredibly detailed and colourful images are possible.
The printed fabric can be used to make clothing or
wall art, and combines beautifully with hand stitch.
You will learn:
Choosing the correct fabric
Preparing your fabric for printing
scouring and mordanting
Choosing the correct leaves
How to make and process your ecoprint bundles
Interpreting your results and troubleshooting
Working in a way which is safe and respectful of
the environment
An inexpensive and simple way to start printing at home
Ideas for learning resources and further techniques if
you wish to learn more
You will go home with:
The knowledge and skills to continue ecoprinting independently
Two sample pieces of fabric
One larger piece suitable for a bag, cushion cover, wall hanging or scarf

Nuno Felting and dyeing
Dyeing
Dyeing yarn and fibre is a central part of the process of producing both yarns and fabrics. Within the Guild we have members who explore both natural dyes in all their many forms and the new synthetic dyes.
We try to run at least one 'dyeing day', usually in July, either led by a specialist dyer or a day in which we just experiment and share ideas and knowledge - either way we always end up with lots of exciting samples of wonderfully coloured yarns and fibres.
Our other dyeing day meetings are on a Saturday or Sunday once a quarter in the autumn, winter and spring in addition to the main guild Saturday dyeing meeting in July.
In the Gallery, we have created a photographic record of two dyeing projects to give an idea of the processes involved.
Dyeing events held in the past include a one day workshop on 'Using Natural Dyes'/
Another on 'Using Acid Dyes'.
Plus an unususal workshop, "Hammering - Using Plants as Dyes".
