Main guild meeting - Charvil Village Hall

Date: 18 Nov 2017

November 18th Main guild meeting -

talk and workshop challenge

This month Sarah and Carol will give an illustrated talk about the Association Summer School they attended this summer. The Summer School is a bi-annual event that our Guild's umbrella group (The Association of Spinners, Weavers and Dyers) puts on for all Guild members in the country. Around 300 people attend the residential course and places are often scarce. Each course tends to have 10 to 12 people on it, so there is a lot on offer and a lot to inspire just by walking around and looking at what everyone is doing. As well as the workshops there are other events organised. This is your potted guide to what the Summer School is about and an insight into the techniques that Sarah and Carol acquired whilst there.

The talk will include a show and tell of the work they created and there will be a mini workshop challenge in the morning to see how fine you can spin.
