Dyeing yarn and fibre is a central part of the process of producing both yarns and fabrics. Within the Guild we have members who explore both natural dyes in all their many forms and the new synthetic dyes.

Each year we try to run at least one 'dyeing day', usually in July, either led by a specialist dyer or a day in which we just experiment and share ideas and knowledge - either way we always end up with lots of exciting samples of wonderfully coloured yarns and fibres.

Our other dyeing day meetings are on a Saturday or Sunday once a quarter in the autumn, winter and spring in addition to the main guild Saturday dyeing meeting in July.

We have created a photographic record of two dyeing projects to give an idea of the processes involved.
